asked the Minister for Education if he will state what additional secondary school facilities are envisaged for the Whitehall, Donnycarney, Artane and Coolock districts of Dublin.

As there is a considerable number of projects involved I propose, with your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, to circulate with the Official Report a tabular statement setting out the information requested by the Deputy.

Following is the statement:

To MEET the future post-primary education requirements of the Whitehall, Donnycarney, Artane and Coolock districts of Dublin the following new schools and extensions of existing schools are proposed:—

Larkhill Girls' Secondary School

400 junior cycle places

Opened in temporary accommodation in September, 1969. Revised plans for permanent building are at present being prepared by Manager's Architects.

Whitehall Senior Vocational School for Girls

240 Senior cycle places

New building almost completed.

Whitehall Boys' Vocational School

Accommodation for 240 at present in prefab, building. Sketch plans prepared by Committee's Architects for permanent building to accommodate 720 are under consideration at present.

Coolock/Kilmore Vocational Schools (2)

720 junior cycle places

720 junior cycle places

Stage I of boys' school opened in September, 1969. Stage II being built at present. Accommodation for 720 when fully completed. Working drawings prepared for girls' school by Committee's Architect are under consideration at present. Senior Cycle facilities will be provided at a later date.

C.B.S. Kilmore Road

720

New school being built in stages. Has accommodation for 200 at present. Plans will be prepared shortly for further stages of the building.

St. John of God School, Kilmore Rd

Accommodation provided in prefabs. at present. Plans being prepared for permanent building for 720 pupils.

Comprehensive Schools (2), Ballymun

800 junior cycle places

800 junior cycle places

It is expected that the first stage of the permanent buildings of the junior schools will be available for pupils in September, 1970. Senior cycle facilities will be provided at a later date.

O'Brien Institute, Griffith Avenue

Present school has accommodation for 100 pupils. Application to build new school for about 400-500 pupils under consideration at present.
