I hope to announce the name of the chairman of the commission within the next few days after which invitations to act as members will issue to representatives of the Boards of Conservators, private interests, the trade, National Salmon Anglers Federation, Trout Anglers Federation, Coarse Fisheries Association, Irish Federation of Sea Anglers, Fishermen's Co-operatives, commercial fishermen, Bord Fáilte and the Inland Fisheries Trust. A representative of my Department will also be a member of the commission. It is expected that the first meeting of the commission will be held towards the end of this month.
Could the Minister give the terms of reference?
Not yet. They will be sorted out in conjunction with the chairman before we lodge them.
