Vol. 244 No. 8

Ceisteanna — Questions. Oral Answers. - Cigarette Smoking.

12.

Dr. Browne, Mr. M. O'Leary

andDr. O'Connell asked the Minister for Health if he will consider insisting that tobacco manufacturers carry a warning on each packet of cigarettes concerning the dangers of lung cancer, bronchitis and heart disease clearly known to be associated with cigarette smoking.

I have considered this suggestion previously and have rejected it — essentially because I am satisfied that it would have little or no practical effect.
