Vol. 244 No. 8

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take No. 10, Vote 26. Questions will be taken at 2.30 p.m.

May I ask the Parliamentary Secretary a question? Surely it should be possible for the Opposition to get a copy of the Order of Business. This is the first intimation we have of the Order of Business.

Last night, as well as on various other similar occasions, I endeavoured to contact Deputy Cluskey and could not do it. The Fine Gael Whip gets the Order of Business the night before. On any night that I can make contact with the Labour Whip's Office Labour are given it too.

I would like to point out that if I was not in my office someone was there. The fact is it is not necessary for the Parliamentary Secretary to contact me. The usual procedure was that the Order of Business would be left in my office. If this is an attempt to obstruct the Opposition let us know it and we will deal with it accordingly.

No. If the Opposition are not there to look after their own interests there is nothing I can do about it.

You ought to be a little more efficient. In any case, I have not yet got the Order of Business and I usually get it every day prior to the sitting of the Dáil.

I wish to raise the subject matter of question No. 19, which I raised last Thursday, on the Adjournment this evening.

The Chair will communicate with the Deputy.

Is this question No. 19 today?

No. It was last week.

It is usual to say what day it was on.

He said it.

He said question No. 19.

It is a matter being dealt with courteously by the Minister for Health and myself.
