Vol. 244 No. 8

Ceisteanna — Questions. Oral Answers. - Redundancy Payments Act.

33.

asked the Minister for Labour when the proposed Bill to amend the Redundancy Payments Act, 1967 referred to in his statement on 1st October 1969 will be published.

The Bill is being drafted and will be published as soon as possible after drafting has been completed.

Would the Minister be able to give any idea as to when he thinks this Bill will be before the House?

I should like to have it through before the completion of the session.

Does that mean before the summer recess?

Is it likely to come in before the Easter recess then?

That is possible but I should not like to commit myself.

It is not a very big Bill.

There is more in it than announced in October last as a result of the High Court decision in connection with the Limerick case and there are some other things.

Including provision for dependants' allowances?
