Vol. 244 No. 8

Ceisteanna — Questions. Oral Answers. - County Galway Estates.

78.

asked the Minister for Lands the position regarding the Mulryan estate, Ballyhard, Glenamaddy, County Galway.

The Land Commission have purchased 24 acres of the Mulryan holding and possession of this area passed to them in February, 1969.

The Land Commission endeavoured to purchase the balance of the holding—also 24 acres—but, in the event, the price negotiations proved unsuccessful.

The formulation of resale proposals for the area which has been purchased will be undertaken as soon as possible.

79.

asked the Minister for Lands when the Land Commission intend to divide the O'Grady estate, Peak, Barnaderg, County Galway.

It is not possible just now to forecast when allotment of this 37-acre property will be effected but I understand that the aim is to include the lands in next year's allocation programme.
