Vol. 244 No. 8

Ceisteanna — Questions. Oral Answers. - Cavan Vocational Schools.

95.

(Cavan) asked the Minister for Education the position regarding the proposed new vocational school in Cavan town; the date on which the plans were lodged in his Department; and when approval may be expected.

The sketch-plan was submitted on 29th July, 1969. The additional documentation required and the cost plan was submitted on 30th October, 1969. Revised floor areas and costings were received on 13th January, 1970. These are now being considered and the Department would hope that finality will be reached in the planning within the next few weeks.

96.

(Cavan) asked the Minister for Education the position regarding the proposed new wing to the vocational school in Belturbet, County Cavan; the cause of the delay in giving final approval; and when such approval will be effected.

Working-drawings and specifications in respect of the proposed extension to Belturbet vocational school have been approved by my Department. It was necessary, however, to seek revised costings. These were received recently and are under consideration.
