Vol. 244 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Cork Road.

21.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is now in a position to decide the amount of special grant to be paid to Cork County Council for the improvement of the very dangerous Mallow-Fermoy-Bally-duff Road; and when it will be made available as it was promised for this purpose consequent on the closing of the Mallow-Dungarvan rail line.

I wish to make it clear that there was no "promise" of a grant. The local authorities applied for grants and their most recent proposals in this regard were recently received and are being considered.

Question No. 22 postponed.
