Vol. 244 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Kerry Pier.

1.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries if his Department will consider the building of a pier at Ballyheigue, County Kerry, to berth boats of between 20 ft and 50 ft; or if he will consider giving financial assistance for the erection of a pier.

I have already arranged to set up a special survey team to examine the fishing ports and fish landing facilities required to meet the needs of the fishing industry on the north Kerry coast and Ballyheigue will, of course, be included in the survey. Until I receive and consider the team's report I cannot say what marine works, if any, may be approved for Ballyheigue.
