Vol. 245 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Water and Sewerage Schemes.

23.

asked the Minister for Local Government the up-to-date position of Tully group water scheme, Killorglin, County Kerry.

I understand that this is the same scheme as the Tullig/Laharne group water supply scheme and I would refer the Deputy to my reply to Question No. 13 by Deputy O'Connor on 10th March, 1970, in this connection.

24.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether Kerry County Council are now satisfied with the latest test carried out at the bore hole in connection with the proposed piped water supply scheme for Ardfert, County Kerry; and, if so, when work is likely to commence.

The answer to the first part of this question is "Yes". I informed the county council in December last that they could proceed with the preparation of contract documents for stage I of the scheme. The submission of these documents is awaited.

25.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will give sanction for the water and sewerage extension to Claremorris industrial site, County Mayo.

I hope to be in a position to convey a decision on this scheme shortly.

Is the Minister aware that this scheme is with the Department for eight or nine months? What is the cause of the delay?

I do not know exactly when it came, but it will be dealt with shortly.

26.

asked the Minister for Local Government what is the present position in regard to the extension of the Millstreet to Lackabawn sewerage scheme, County Cork.

Cork County Council's proposal to appoint a consultant engineer to prepare a preliminary report and estimate for this scheme was approved by me on the 2nd October, 1969. The council's further proposals in the matter are awaited.

27.

asked the Minister for Local Government what is the present position in regard to Tower sewerage scheme, Blarney, County Cork.

The position regarding this scheme is still as indicated in my reply to the Deputy's question No. 25 on 18th November last on the subject.
