Vol. 245 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Export of Irish Goods.

61.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce the number and name of the countries which he visited during 1969 to promote the export of Irish goods; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

In the course of three visits abroad in 1969 to promote the export of Irish goods I visited seven countries. These were the USA, Canada, Britain, Cyprus, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.

I visited North America principally to open department store promotions and displays in a number of centres. My visit to Britain was in support of a display of Irish building materials at the International Building Exhibition, Olympia, London, and I want to the Middle East with a trade mission to that area.
