Vol. 245 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin Taxi Telephone Service.

96.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will take steps to expedite the provision of telephone services for taxi-stands in the city of Dublin.

My Department has three requests on hands regarding telephone facilities at taxi-stands in Dublin city. Arrangements have already been made to provide the required facilities shortly in two of these, one involving replacement of a taxi-telephone which had been recovered during road improvement works and the second removal of an existing telephone to a new site. The third case also involves a removal to a new site, the existing telephone having been stolen, apparently by vandals. Arrangements will be made to provide service when a suitable site has been agreed with the interests concerned.
