Vol. 245 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - 1916 Rising Commemoration.

22.

asked the Minister for Defence whether the arms borne by individuals at a political party's Easter commeroration at Arbour Hill, Dublin, were the property of either the regular forces or of the F.C.A.; if so, by whom and to whom permission was granted for such arms to be borne outside normal military exercises.

The arms referred to by the Deputy are the property of my Department.

In accordance with a practice of many years standing the arms were requested by the General Secretary of Fianna Fáil for their annual commemoration of the 1916 Rising at Arbour Hill and their issue was approved by me.
