Statement by the Taoiseach.

B'áil liom cead chun na fógraí seo leanas a dhéanamh mar eolas don Dáil:—

(i) chuireas in iúl don Uachtarán go raibh Dáil Éireann tar éis com-haontú le mé d'ainmniú

an Teachta Deasún Ó Máille

chun bheith ina chomhalta den Rialtas agus cheap an tUachtarán an Teachta Ó Máille dá réir le héifeacht ón lá inné;

(ii) tá an Rialtas tar éis

an Teachta Daithí Mac Aindriú

a cheapadh chun oifig Rúnaí Parlaiminte an Taoisigh agus an Aire Cosanta le héifeacht ón lá inniú;

(iii) thairg an Teachta Pádraig Ó Braonáin éirí as oifig mar Rúnaí Parlaiminte an Aire Rialtais Áitiúil agus tá an Rialtas tar éis glacadh leis an tairiscint sin le héifeacht ón lá inniu.

I beg leave to make the following announcements, for the information of the Dáil:—

(i) I informed the President that the Dáil had approved my nomination of

Deputy Des O'Malley

to be a member of the Government and the President yesterday appointed him accordingly;

(ii) the Government have appointed

Deputy David Andrews

to be the Parliamentary Secretary to the Taoiseach and to the Minister for Defence, with effect from today, and

(iii) Deputy Paudge Brennan has tendered his resignation as Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Local Government and the Government have accepted his resignation with effect from today.
