Vol. 247 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Social Insurance Income Limit.

18.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare when the Government intends to substantially raise the current qualifying income limit of £1,200 per annum for social insurance.

Pending the emergence of a clearer pattern in pay increases arising from recent settlements and demands still pending, a decision in this matter has had to be deferred. I hope, however, to be able to make a recommendation to the Government very shortly.
