Vol. 247 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Bank Strike.

21.

asked the Minister for Labour if he is aware of the serious slump in property sales because of the bank strike and of the damage being caused to the economy generally; and what steps he proposes to take to bring about an early settlement.

I am aware that the bank strike is causing inconvenience.

I am satisfied that there is adequate machinery available to the parties to help them to settle this dispute. I would again urge them to use this machinery and to resume negotiations.
