Vol. 247 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Architects Fees.

73.

asked the Minister for Local Government the present level of fees for services by consultant architects employed on public construction work under the aegis of his Department.

A special scale of fees for consultant architects employed on local authority housing was agreed with the Royal Institute of Architects of Ireland in 1967. Fees under this scale are paid as a percentage of the total building cost of schemes. The gross fee for normal service is 6 per cent of the cost but as reductions are made for repetitive work the nett fee generally ranges between 3½ per cent and 4½ per cent.
