Vol. 247 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Sewerage Schemes.

75.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he has received proposals from the Offaly County Council regarding the Banagher sewerage improvements scheme; and, if so, when he will sanction the proposals.

Approval was given some months ago to the acceptance of a tender and the issue of a loan for the Banagher sewerage improvement scheme. Technical data relating to a proposed extension of the scheme were received in my Department on 20th May and are being examined. A decision will be given as soon as possible.

76.

asked the Minister for Local Government the date on which he received the contract documents for Shinrone sewerage scheme from Offaly County Council; whether he is satisfied with these contract documents; and when he will grant approval for this scheme.

Contract documents for this scheme were received in my Department on the 22nd April, 1970, and are being examined. A decision on them will be given as soon as possible.

77.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he has received the preliminary report relating to Crinkle sewerage scheme from Offaly County Council; the date on which he received this report; and when he will be in a position to approve the report.

78.

andMr. Cowen asked the Minister for Local Government when he will sanction Crinkle and Kinnity sewerage schemes, County Offaly.

79.

asked the Minister for Local Government the date on which he received the contract documents for Kinnitty sewerage scheme from Offaly County Council; if he is satisfied with these contract documents; and when he will grant approval for this scheme.

With your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 77, 78 and 79 together.

Preliminary report for the Crinkle sewerage scheme and contract documents for the Kinnitty sewerage scheme were received in my Department on the 20th February, 1970, and 13th March, 1970, respectively and are under consideration. I hope to convey a decision on the proposals for the Crinkle scheme shortly. On the latest information available to me the local authority do not regard the Kinnitty scheme as having a high priority on their water and sewerage programme and I cannot indicate when a decision on that proposal will be given.

80.

asked the Minister for Local Government to state the cause of the delay in sanctioning a sewerage scheme for Ballyulster, Celbridge, County Kildare.

This proposal has to be considered in direct association with a scheme of works now being prepared by Kildare County Council to deal generally with sewerage problems in the Celbridge/Leixlip area. A report required to enable that scheme to be examined was received in my Department on 2nd June. When this and other relevant technical information submitted has been considered a decision will be given without delay on the proposal regarding Ballyulster.
