Vol. 247 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Council Certification.

82.

(Cavan) asked the Minister for Local Government if he has yet received a report from Louth County Council as to the amount collected by that Council for the year ended 31st March 1969 for certificates setting out whether or not certain roads, drains etc., servicing specified residences were in charge of Louth County Council and the amount charged for each such certificate; if so, if he will now give the information asked for in Question No. 27 of 17th February 1970; if he will give similar information for the year ended 31st March 1970; and if he will take steps to see that the practice of charging for these certificates is discontinued.

I am informed that the total amounts collected by Louth County Council in respect of the issue of such certificates in 1968-69 and 1969-70 were £15 10s and £41 respectively and the amount charged for each certificate is £5 5s. I understand that the position regarding this charge is under consideration by the county council.
