Vol. 247 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin Taxi Services.

103.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will meet a deputation from the Independent Taxi Drivers' Association to discuss their claim.

104.

asked the Minister for Local Government when the commission set up by his Department in April, 1969, to review the operation of taxi services in Dublin will be in a position to publish its report.

With your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 103 and 104 together.

I understand that the committee set up by my predecessor to assemble facts relating to the taxi and hackney business has completed its investigations and now expects to present its report to me this month. I suggest that when I have received and considered the report it would be possible for me to judge whether a meeting with such a deputation, if requested, would be desirable or useful.
