Vol. 247 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - School of Retail Distribution.

20.

asked the Minister for Education if, in view of the totally inadequate conditions of the school of retail distribution at Parnell Square, Dublin, there are any proposals for new premises before his Department.

I understand that the City of Dublin Vocational Education Committee set up a working party to examine the accommodation requirements of the School of Retail Distribution and that a schedule of accommodation has been drawn up. When proposals are submitted to my Department there will be no delay in having them examined.

Would the Minister be prepared to get in touch with this working party so that they might hurry up their proposals?

I can get in touch with them but I do not know whether it would be possible for them to work any faster than they are now doing. It is a matter for the City of Dublin Vocational Education Committee.

Could the Minister say for how long this party has been working and when they are likely to have results?

I have not got that information.

Would the Minister consider it necessary to institute another inquiry into the working of the working party?
