Vol. 247 No. 9

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take Nos. 7 (Vote 8), 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12. If not already reached it is proposed to interrupt business at 6 p.m. to take No. 12.

May I ask, Sir, why a special notice question of mine dealing with allegations of improper dealings in Dublin Corporation houses was not considered by you?

The matter has been considered and I did not allow the question.

It is a matter——

It cannot be discussed here.

There is considerable disquiet about this——

The Deputy is entitled to put a question down as an ordinary question. It has not been ruled out of order.

Is the Ceann Comhairle aware that allegations of political patronage in the allocation of houses is at the kernel of Deputy O'Connell's question?

That has nothing to do——

(Interruptions.)

Low standards in high places again.

On the order of business, Sir, may I inquire from the Tánaiste when it is proposed to take No. 15, the Local Government (Planning and Development) (No. 2) Bill?

That will have to be arranged between the Whips. We propose to take it this sitting.

A Cheann Comhairle, do you think it appropriate at this time of complete lack of confidence in the honour of this Government that allegations identifying certain members of the party——

The Deputy should not be disorderly.

Does the Chair not think this is a matter of public——

The Deputy is completely out of order.

(Interruptions.)

Do you want us to name them?
