Vol. 247 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dún Laoghaire Filleting Plant.

72.

asked the Minister for Defence what is the up-to-date position in relation to the application of the Dún Laoghaire fishermen for a filleting plant on the FCA area of the harbour.

The property known as the former coastguard station, Dún Laoghaire, is administered by the Commissioners of Public Works. Portions of the property have been occupied and used by my Department since 1943.

It has been decided to release part of the property used by my Department for the purpose of making it available for the erection of a fish filleting station and stores, subject to certain conditions which have been notified to the Commissioners of Public Works.

I thank the Minister for acting so quickly. Could the Minister tell me the approximate date of the commencement of work?

I have not got that information.
