Vol. 247 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin Site Charges.

105.

asked the Minister for Local Government what price Dublin Corporation are charging small builders for sites; whether the corporation are making a profit on the sale of these sites; and whether he will give a breakdown of the development and other costs included in the prices sought for these small builders.

Subject to compliance with the statutory requirement that the sale price shall not be less than the cost to the local authority of the acquisition and development of the sites, the terms of disposal of building sites are entirely a matter for the corporation and are not subject to my approval.

I understand, however, that the prices being charged by the corporation for the sites in question are sufficient only to meet their outgoings on acquisition, development, interest and administration costs and that no profit to municipal funds is anticipated from the transaction.
