Vol. 247 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Ice Cream Products.

30.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will indicate the regulations governing the manufacture and retail price of ice cream, pops, etc.; and whether he is satisfied that the interest of the consumer is fully safeguarded.

I do not exercise control over the retail price of ice cream, pops, etc., but I am prepared to have investigations made of any apparently excessive increases in prices of these articles which are brought to my notice.

I have no functions in regard to conditions under which ice cream, et cetera, are manufactured.

Which Minister has control in this case?

The Minister for Health.
