Vol. 247 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Army Personnel Widows.

36.

asked the Minister for Defence if he will consider the possibility of extending the pensions available to Army pensioners to their widows and to the widows of non-commissioned officers or privates.

It is not proposed to make provision for the payment of the pensions of deceased military service pensioners to their widows. Neither is it proposed to make provision for the payment of pensions to the widows of non-commissioned officers and privates as such personnel are insured under the Social Welfare Acts for contributory widows' pension purposes.
