Vol. 248 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Holiday Legislation.

28.

asked the Minister for Labour if it is his intention to amend the Holiday Employees Act to provide for a substantial increase in the number of paid holidays in view of the fact that in the Republic the number of annual and public holidays amount to 16 to 21 days, 21 to 22 days in The Netherlands, 25 in Belgium, 25 to 28 in Germany and 29 in France and Italy.

The suggestion made in the Deputy's question will be included in the review of the legislation on holidays with pay which will be carried out as part of a general review programme covering labour law generally.
