Vol. 248 No. 1

Written Answers. - Payment of Disability Benefit.

93.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare why a person (details supplied) has not received any form of payment since 31st October, 1969; and if he is eligible to draw any money as he has incurred debts to date.

An insured person who has less than 156 employment contributions paid in respect of him is entitled to disability benefit for a period of not more than 52 weeks. The insured person referred to in the question has had only 36 employment contributions paid in respect of him since he entered insurance on 8th November, 1965. He was paid disability benefit for a period of 52 weeks from 22nd October, 1968, to 20th October, 1969, and he cannot re-qualify for any payment of disability benefit until a further 13 employment contributions have been paid in respect of him.
