Vol. 248 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Rural Electrification.

7.

asked the Minister for Transport and Power what plans the ESB have to ensure that there is adequate electric power to cater for the Ballincollig area, County Cork, where there is a housing and industrial build-up at the moment.

I am informed by the ESB that they plan to have adequate supply for projected housing and industrial development in the Ballincollig area and to this end they are building a 38KV/10KV transformer station in Ballincollig. Completion of this station has been held up by the cement strike. The station will be completed within four months of cement supplies becoming available and will cater for the foreseeable increase in load in the area.
