Vol. 248 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Leitrim Comprehensive School.

33.

asked the Minister for Education if he will state in relation to the new comprehensive school in Manorhamilton, County Leitrim (a) if the site has been purchased and the price paid for same; (b) if a contract has been entered into and, if so, with whom; (c) when the work will commence on the project; and (d) when the work will be completed.

A site has been selected for the proposed new comprehensive school in Manorhamilton and my Department is in negotiation with the owner in regard to the purchase price. Planning is at an early stage but is proceeding on the basis of some classroom accommodation being made available for September, 1971, and a substantial amount of additional accommodation for September, 1972. It is not possible to say as yet when work will be completed.
