Vol. 249 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - European Space Conference.

16.

asked the Minister for External Affairs whether the Government accept resolution No. 458 on the 4th European Space Conference which was adopted by the Consultative Assembly of the Council of Europe on 21st September, 1970; and whether they will instruct their representatives to the conference to comply with the requests made in paragraph 5 of this resolution.

Ireland was represented at the meeting of the committee of Minister's Deputies of the Council of Europe which decided to transmit Resolution No. 458, adopted by the Consultative Assembly, to member governments so that national delegations of member states attending the second session of the 4th European Space Conference might take account of the assembly's views.

As in the case of earlier meetings of the European Space Conference, Ireland will be represented at the second session of the 4th conference by an observer only and, in consequence, its delegation will not be in a position to participate in its decisions.
