asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will now consider extending the free travel facilities to widows in receipt of pensions who are under 70 and who reside alone.

The scheme of free travel administered by my Department was devised primarily for old people aged 70 or over who are receiving social welfare type pensions. Any extension of the scheme on the lines requested by the Deputy is not contemplated.
