Vol. 249 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Sligo Regional College Council Meeting.

29.

asked the Minister for Education if his attention has been drawn to a report (details supplied) that the representative of Roscommon Vocational Education Committee attending a meeting of the Sligo Regional College Council was disfranchised when a decision was being made on an important item on the agenda; if he will make a statement on the validity of the meetings and also if standing orders are issued or available for the conduct of such meetings.

I have seen the press report referred to in the question. Standing orders for the conduct of meetings of regional college councils are not drawn up by my Department and are matters for arrangement by the councils themselves. I have no function in relation to determining the validity of a meeting of such a council.
