Vol. 249 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Farm Training Scheme.

38.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries why his Department have not allowed farm employees in County Dublin to participate in the farm training scheme which was launched in October, 1970; and if it is proposed to permit employees to participate in the scheme at an early date.

The question of participation of my Department's farm workers in the scheme was recently raised and is at present under consideration.

Could the Minister say how soon we can expect a decision? It could not be a very big matter of principle.

It is not a very big problem. There are some aspects of it that are peculiar to the workers employed by my Department. I can assure the Deputy there will be no avoidable delay in coming to a decision.
