Vol. 249 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Hogget Ewe Subsidy Scheme.

39.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries if he is aware that many farmers who qualified for subsidy under the hogget ewe subsidy scheme have not yet been paid; and if he will ensure early payment.

Almost 25,000 claims under the 1970 sheep subsidy schemes have already been cleared for payment and this is more than double the number paid altogether under the 1969 schemes. There will be no avoidable delay in processing the outstanding claims which number about 2,600.
