Vol. 249 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Army Pension Increases.

107.

asked the Minister for Defence (a) how many officers from Command O.C. level up have qualified for recent pension increase and (b) how many officers retired since June, 1969.

One officer who retired after the 1st June, 1969, and who held the appointment of Officer Commanding the Eastern Command will qualify for an increase in his retired pay when the necessary amending Defence Forces (Pensions) Scheme comes into operation.

The number of officers who retired since the 1st June, 1969, is 63.

The Minister remembers there was a big sing-song about this and there was only one person concerned.
