Vol. 249 No. 9

Ceisteanna — Questions. Oral Answers. - On-The-Spot Fines.

58.

asked the Minister for Justice the amount collected from on-the-spot fines over the past 12 months.

Final figures for the amount collected over the last 12 months are not available as, owing to the bank strike, the full amount collected by the Garda has not yet been remitted to my Department.

The total sum remitted during the year ended 31st October, 1970, was £95,751.

I assume that is not the total amount.

It is the amount remitted, not the amount collected which is probably somewhat higher.
