As I said on 12th November last in answer to a question on this subject, communal aerial systems are permitted, subject to certain conditions and restrictions, for the distribution of programmes by wire or cable to subscribers' premises in areas in which these programmes can be received directly off the air. My Department is prepared to consider applications for licences for such systems but it has no responsibility for providing them. I am not in a position therefore to say when they may be provided in any particular area or areas.
