Vol. 252 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Kerry School Transport Facilities.

59.

asked the Minister for Education the present position regarding the proposal to extend the free transport scheme for Ranalough national school, Killeentierna, County Kerry, to include the children in the townland of Gortshanafa.

An extension of the existing transport service to Ranalough national school to cater for the eligible children in the Gortshanafa area was sanctioned on 12th February, 1971. It was necessary, however, for the contractor for the service to acquire a larger vehicle in order to accommodate the additional children. This has now been delivered and it is expected that the extension will be put into operation in the course of the coming week.
