Vol. 253 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Land Registry Folios.

30.

asked the Minister for Justice the number of Land Registry folios at present mislaid; and what efforts are being made to trace them.

Thirty original folios, out of a total of 700,000 in the Land Registry, are known to be temporarily mislaid. As some 20,000 folios are in use in the various section of the registry at any given time it is not always possible to locate them immediately they are applied for. If a folio cannot be located within a fortnight a copy folio—or, where a copy is not available, a reconstructed folio—is provided. In cases of urgency this is done as quickly as possible.
