asked the Minister for Justice if he is aware of the very poor conditions prevailing in the cells at the Cork city Bridewell; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I have only recently become aware of the conditions of the cell accommodation at the Bridewell. I have taken up with the Office of Public Works the question of urgently improving the condition of the existing accommodation.
