asked the Minister for Local Government whether he has received from either Dublin Corporation or Dublin County Council a proposal for the building of a new bridge or for the widening of an existing bridge over the River Dodder; and, if so, if he will state in respect of each case the date of the original notification, its present position, when any proposed work will commence and the estimated cost thereof.

Current proposals relating to bridges over the Dodder are as follows:—

Orwell Road Bridge

1. Outline proposals submitted 2nd January, 1970, and approved 8th April, 1970.

2. Contract documents approved 7th April, 1971.

3. No information as to when work will commence.

4. Provisional estimate for bridge £60,000.

Milltown Road Bridge

1. Request for approval to appointment of consulting engineer received 22nd June, 1967, and approved 13th July, 1967.

2. Plans for construction of bridge not yet received.

3. No information as to when work will commence.

4. Estimate of cost not yet available.

Springfield Avenue Bridge

1. Request for approval in principle received on 26th August, 1969, and approved on 26th September, 1969.

2. Consultant's preliminary report under examination.

3. No information as to when work will commence.

4. Estimate of cost not yet available.
