Net motor insurance premium income earned in 1969 was £11.68 million while net claims totalled £10.47 million. The total net loss for the year on motor insurance business, after taking into account management expenses and commission, was of the order of £2.18 million.
The report on assurance companies which is published annually by my Department contains detailed information on the business of these companies. The report for 1969 based on returns made in 1970 will be available shortly.
