Vol. 253 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Kilkenny Housing Subsidy.

35.

asked the Minister for Local Government when housing subsidy will be paid on the Larchfield Estate, Kilkenny.

A payment on account of £19,500 will be made to Kilkenny Corporation in respect of this scheme in the current financial year. When lettings certificates and particulars of final costings for the scheme are submitted to the Department, the precise amounts of subsidy payable will be calculated and any additional amounts due will be paid to the corporation.

I understand that all these have been supplied to the Department and the officials complain that lack of payment of this loan has meant a heavy charge on the rates. This is due for over six months now.

No. The statement of final costings and the lettings certificates on which the actual amounts of the subsidy payments are calculated have not yet been forwarded.
