Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Sligo Unemployment.

2.

asked the Taioseach how many people are unemployed in each of the four electoral areas in County Sligo.

The only information available on unemployment relates to the numbers of persons on the live register. The weekly figures relate to the numbers registering at each local employment office. These are not compiled by electoral areas. On 21st May, 1971, the latest date for which figures are available, there were 620 persons on the live register at the Sligo office and 165 persons at the Tubbercurry office. A special monthly analysis by area of residence is compiled. The latest such figures, for 30th April, 1971, show 276 persons residing in Sligo municipal borough on the live register at that date.
