Vol. 254 No. 13

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take business in the following order: Nos. 1, 26, 27 and 7, 28 and 8, 29 and, in No. 29, Votes 26, 26 Supplementary and 5: Vote No. 26 Supplementary and No. 5 to be taken with Vote No. 26. Questions will be taken at 3 p.m.

(Cavan): Last week I asked the Taoiseach about the Planning Bill and he told me that, if I renewed my question this week, he would let me know.

I have not got my brief with me, but I can tell the Deputy that, as I indicated some time back to the House, the Minister was having another look at the Bill and, in the light of his experience of the planning procedures, since he became Minister, he has decided to introduce some new provisions which, in the first instance, will have to be discussed with other Departments that might be affected and may possibly have to come before the Government. It is unlikely the Bill will be introduced before the end of this session but the Minister hopes to introduce it early next session.
