Vol. 254 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Duty Free Facilities.

27.

asked the Minister for Transport and Power the present position regarding the introduction of duty free facilities for travellers between Britain and Ireland; and the British Government's attitude in the matter.

I recently received a report prepared by Bord Fáilte in conjunction with Aer Lingus and the B. & I. Line recommending the introduction of duty free facilities on air and sea routes between Britain and Ireland. This report is being examined in my Department. The question of consultation with the British authorities will depend on the decisions taken on the recommendations in the report.

The remaining questions will appear on tomorrow's Order Paper.

May I ask the Minister if he has any information about item No. 4, the Advertising Bill? Have the Government given that any consideration?

If the Deputy will raise that on Tuesday a reply will be given to him.
