Vol. 255 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Council Powers.

29.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries if a committee of agriculture has power to operate a farm; and, if a farm is leased by a county council to a committee of agriculture, if the profits earned above the lease rent may be handed to the county council for relief of rates.

A county committee of agriculture would only have power to do as suggested in the question if provision therefor were incorporated in the committee's annual agricultural scheme and approved by the Minister under the Agriculture Acts 1931-1970.
