Vol. 255 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Galway Bog.

38.

asked the Minister for Lands when the Land Commission intend to allot Cloonacorra bog, Milltown, Tuam, County Galway.

The fee simple of this 295 acre bog was allocated some years ago, the Land Commission retaining the right to cut turf over an area of 91 acres. Seasonal lettings are made each year to those few in the locality who require turf.

Because of the small demand, and in view of the fact that the bog is well on the way to being cut out, the high expenditure necessary for development and division would not be justified.
