Vol. 255 No. 19

Written Answers. - Dublin Cattle Market.

154.

asked the Minister for Local Government if, in view of the pending closure of the Dublin cattle market, the Dublin Corporation will consider building their new offices on this site and leave the open space between Christ Church and the Liffey available for conversion into public gardens.

With your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 153 and 154 together. A number of appeals were submitted to me against the decision of the corporation to grant planning permission for the erection of civic offices at the Wood Quay/Winetavern Street site and an oral hearing was held in May last. In view of my statutory functions in relation to appeals, it would not be appropriate for me to comment on the matter at this stage.
